PRODUCTION AND CHARACTERISATION OF LIPASE FROM ASPERGILLUS NIGER IN A SUBMERGED FERMENTATION SYSTEM
ABSTRACT Three fungal isolates (FSP1, FSP2 and FSP3) were isolated based on morphological characteristics from laundry waste water disposal site. A 10 day pilot study on the three isolates in submerged fermentation system using olive oil as sole carbon source revealed that FSP1 had the highest lipase production on day 9 and pH 4.0 was the optimum pH for the enzyme production.
